Our client WWS Sound & Light blew away festivalgoers at the hardstyle festival ‘Blow the Speakerz’ with an amazing show using Infinity iW-1915s, iB-5Rs, Showtec Active Sunstrips, and Expression 5000s. We were particularly impressed with how WWS Sound & Light controlled segments of the iW-1915s during the show. The LEDs in these wash moving heads can be controlled in five segments. The heads are also equipped with a quick zoom function that allows them to be used as a beam.

Showtec Creator light controllers
Showtec Creator light controllers

More than 2,000 Showtec Creator light controllers have been sold in recent years. Each design offers you all the tools you need to design a creative light show, such as a shape generator, personality files, palettes, and enough hotkeys and faders to make immediate modifications during a live show.

The series brings together four devices: the Creator Compact, the Creator 1024, the Creator 1024 PRO, and the Creator 2048. These controllers all have the same basic capabilities. The differences come in the controllers’ design and setup: from compact to very extensive. This means you can find the right Creator for your needs. Whichever one you choose, each Creator comes with great functions that you usually only find in high-end products. Thanks to their user-friendly layout and many tools, you will be able to program a great light show in no time.

In addition to some clips we have made to give you a better idea of the devices, there are tutorials that will tell you more about the machines’ capabilities. Click on the videos to view them. All Creators are available direct from stock.

Year: 2017

Location: Roermond

Lighting designer: Extrema BV

Production/Rental: Purple Group, JK Productions, Bram van Amelsvoort (4Productions), Roos Aerts (Roos Productions)

Thursday 3 August saw this year's edition of the annual Solar Weekend Festival in Roermond. The performances took place on ten stages, attracting a total of 25,000 people to the festival site. Our partner Purple Group from Schijndel used various Showtec fixtures, including a large number of Helix 4000 Q4s and Spectral M800 ip65s.

Solar has made its name as a ‘creative’ festival. Besides the stage acts from a range of musical genres, festivalgoers can take part in the many side activities on offer. Joining forces with Extrema BV as a light designer, Purple Group used a huge number of Helix 4000 Q4s thanks to their powerful light output, compact dimensions, and watertight properties. The company installed Spectral M800 ip65s across the site to put the festival's range of activities in the spotlight. They also used Showtec Cameleon Flood 18/3s, with Compact Par 7 Tris installed on the smaller stages.

Of course, Purple Group was sure to use Active Sunstrips, supporting them with Stage Blinders and DWE Audience Blinders. Meanwhile, features such as disco balls and Antari smoke machines added the finishing touches to the work by Extrema BV's light designers!
