Spanish courses educate with Lampy and iW-1915 Pixel.
The Centro de Tecnología del Espectáculo (CTE) in Madrid, Spain, designated a National Reference Centre for the Live Performance sector by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training and the State Public Employment Service, had organised two courses on Lighting Control Networks, delivered by Alejandro Castilla Peula from 25 to 28 May. With the collaboration of Highlite, the students had access to a plethora of Showtec products for the realisation of practical assignments during the course. With the help of two Showtec NET-8/5 Art-Net/Kling-Net Node network nodes, one Showtec Net-5 PoE network switch, four Showtec NET-2/3 Pocket nodes, two Showtec NET-2 Panel nodes, one Infinity iW-1915 Pixel RGBW wash moving head, one Infinity TF-300 Fresnel spotlight, one Showtec Performer 2000 RGBAL LED spot, and a Showtec Lampy 40 2U DMX controller, they were able to learn a great deal about the latest technologies of communication with and control of professional live show lighting installations. Without much experience, the students were able to operate the Lampy 40 intuitively, which speaks for the design and layout of the controller. The iW-1915 Pixel of course impressed the students with its individually controllable RGBW LEDs and tested their knowledge of DMX and Art-Net network control extensively.
