AV Install BV provides Kennemer Techlab with Showtec gear to inspire them to think creatively and learn how to operate a DMX lighting system.
Earlier this month saw the opening of the new Kennemer Techlab in Heemskerk. Opened by the Dutch physician and astronaut André Kuipers, the Kennemer Techlab is a challenging learning environment that introduces primary and secondary school students to the latest technologies, such as robotics, virtual reality, new media, 3D design, drones, etc. The tech lab encourages students to collaborate and think creatively and innovatively on real-life assignments.
AV Install BV included several Showtec products in the tech lab's lighting system. The setup incorporates eight Showtec Phantom 65 LED spot moving heads, 20 Showtec Power Spot 3 Q5 LED spotlights, and a Showtec Booster Pro - an optical isolated DMX splitter and booster. AV Install made a fixed control with presets in it for the teachers to use. Operating a laptop and a wireless controller, the students can programme the 20 LED spots and the four moving heads as they wish.
The equipment is part of a wider DMX and DJ setup that will teach children how to program light and audio shows, with the added benefit of providing the school with an ideal disco setup!
